Formal Probate Services

Formal Probate applies if you are asking the court to be appointed as the personal representative of the decedent’s estate. Formal Probates are typically done when the situation does NOT fit within the Informal Probate court requirements and process, or there is/are situation(s) that warrant a hearing. Each situation requires customized documents. We professionally prepare over 30 pages of Formal Probate legal documents specific to your situation.

Pricing

Formal Probate: We professionally prepare approximately 30 pages of Formal Probate legal documents. Our fee will range from $1795* depending on the level of service you require. We can provide Basic Document Preparation Services only or we can provide a Comprehensive Service Package.  We are happy to answer your questions and provide you with a firm quote.

In addition to our fee, you will have the following outside fees:

  • Probate Court Filing Fee: $279
    (Maricopa County, other counties vary.)
    Two Publication costs: $100 each.
    (Maricopa County, other counties vary)
  • Certified Copies of the Letter of Appointment: $30.50 each, or according to Court charges.
  • Deed of Distribution: $175
  • County Recording Fee of Deeds, if any: $30 – $40 depending on the County
  • Record Death Certificate, if not done already: $30 – $40 depending on the County

*This represents the total cost of the majority of Formal Probate documents we prepare. However, we reserve the right to charge additional fees if your particular situation is unusual, or if the costs, time, recording fees are higher than stated above. However, we do not nickel and dime our clients. Cost for additional documents (e.g. if objections are filed, motions, etc.) is additional. We are upfront and always discuss the fees prior to document preparation.
